Back Door Won't Open!
Back Door Won't Open!
Hey guys, I searched a bit and I'm pretty sure the actuator is the problem, but I just want to be sure before I order a new one.
So it started a while ago, back in the spring I guess, my back passenger side door started playing games with me. It would unlock sometimes, sometimes it wouldn't. Now it wont unlock at all. I tried with the remote, manually inside, nothing. It won't open from the inside handle or the outside. Again, I'm pretty sure its the actuator, but I want to be 100% before I get into it. So is there anything else it might be? If not, wheres the best place to get an actuator?

Before you order the new actuator, I'd suggest pulling off the door's interior panel and check things out a bit closer. Many times, simply lubricating some components will resolve the game playing. What have ya got to lose, but to try ? Maybe save a few bucks !

Odds are its the actual latch that is freezing up from corrosion. Take the door panel off and pull the latch/lock out. Make sure all parts move freely. If not soak the whole thing in penetrating oil for a while then force the parts to work and once moving keep doing it over and over and soak them more. Lube it up good before installing. (same thing happened to mine)

ok guys will do! Truthfully, we had the door panel off when it first started but we were more less checking if something had disconnected. But I'll check it out again. Thanks for help!
