ARM rest keeps popping up!!

I have a 2002 Acura TL and the dang armrest keeps popping up. This is starting to get very annoying because it pops up and then hits my arm. I tried pushing the latch in as much as possible so it would get stuck, but it doesn't do it. Any one else have this problem.

What can I do. Thanks.

ya, it's a problem most people encounter with our gen TLs. try tightening the screws that are on the bottom side of the arm rest. you'll be surprised how much it helps. it doesn't secure it back to what it used to be, but it'll keep it closed at least..

Make sure your screws to the latch and lid are tight. If that doesnt help you can get just the new latch for a few bucks.

Screws for Armrest

When I bought my '03 TL, I noticed that problem too. When I looked at the armrest, I noticed that 3 of the screws were missing, and the others were a bit loose. A quick trip to the hardware store for the replacement metric screws was the answer. They are not black like the originals, but no one will notice the color of the screws. No unintentional pop-ups now!
