Any luck with Acura Client Services?
Any luck with Acura Client Services?
I had the transmission problem and got a rebuilt one from a repair shop and not the dealer. I tried dealing with Acura client services and got declined for any help at all even though I documented the history of problems with the 03 type s transmission and I only had 95K miles at the time. My family has bought 5 acuras in the past and I am amazed they didn't help me out with anything.
My question: Has anyone tried going above the Client Services group (i.e. write a letter to the CEO or anything else) to try and get Acura to step up and help to pay for the fix. I am seriously disappointed in their response when it is a fact that the transmissions suck.

A: were you 200+ miles from an acura dealer at trans failure time?
B: were you part of the `covered VINs` for extended warranty?
C: did you have a history on file at dealer of regular atf fluid changes?
D: court ordered warranty was 7 years plus 9 months from date sold as new car!
we are past that!!
ACS client service is the top- but the first denial can be overridden!!
follow up letter with the points you made here, and a copy of this thread
may help you
they dont care about `overall gen2 probs`--
they care if YOUR particular car had been in the dealer with complaint of trans issue and finding of `NPF/ no problem found`,,that allows then to call it an `open case` and hook you up
when you go to an outside shop- acura doesnt get the chance to determine cause of failure--by their tech and by teardown once its returned to them as a core
As a result they dont hand out trans to just anyone who ask~
If you have the above qualifications- do another letter, expressing family brand loyalty (acura loves that) state you're member of acurazine= with a thread dedicated to this issue with your car=,,,you may get a partial payment on trans
Its hard to expect them to do anything since we are past the court ordered warranty (some 03s excluded)
and an unknown shop did the work, they didnt get the core back to reuse parts from = why should they help you now???
Did you start at the dealer when trans quit?

I was on the middle of I5 to LA from SF when it happened between Xmas & New Years and a lot of places were closed. I had to get it towed to Bakersfield. Turns out they had a dealer in Bakersfield, but I did not check with them. I guess I am SOL. My VIN was not in the covered VINs. I don't have a record of regular ATF changes. I should have come here first and found out I needed to do that.
i had my second trans break at 94k acura fixed it under recall my trans broke again 3 months out of the trans warranty and 20k under the miles, acura told the best they could do was 20% of the dealer cost then they wanted me to storage fees because i told them to fuck off...
not a good idea to piss off the dealer, they can help or hinder you with ACS
but
out of vin range, no fluid history, only family brand loyalty...
after the fact request for non acura shop repairs...= yeah right
for others in this situation: may I suggest an accord trans from the auto dismantlers (junkyard)
see threads on that money saving option

oh 20% off,,not dealer cost plus 20% that would have been a deal
unless the many things it was in for included at least 1 complaint of trans shifting issue, and diagnosis of PNF-problem not found,,then corp can help you later

everyone please change your fluid, at least 3 qts every 15kmiles/yearly
and those on the old fluid switch to honda dw1
its easier than a regular engine oil change!
thats about all we can do to preserve the lifespan,,beyond realistic use of the SS and avoiding max rpm downshifts into 3 and 2

Back when the cars were under warranty for the issue and mileage if you were 300 miles plus from a dealer you may have gotten them to cover the cost, but no chance if there was a close dealer.
