Another Mystery Suspension Problem

Hi-My '99 TL, 165k miles makes a creaking/snapping/popping sound from the front end whenever I turn or sometimes go over bumpy areas. I've had the suspension brace/bar, ball joints, etc. checked out and replaced the front struts and front motor mount. The two mechanics that looked at it said the front end is "tight". The noise has gotten a little worse over the two years since I first noticed the problem.

Any insight is appreciated... thx

did u replace ur sway bar bushings? that could be part of ur noise. could be lower ball joints too. they might look good but they could be dried out.

No I haven't, but will look into it. My hunch is it's probably the ball joints.

Thanks!!!

I had the same problem and everyone said my front end was fine. Most likely it is the lower control arm bushings, they cost $20/each and should be replaced on both sides. It is an easy fix, more people should be doing this. I have a previous thread on this somewhere. Hope that helps!
