In the least, they'll give you a goodwill discount for repair.

type your VIN in here:

http://www.hondatransmissionsettleme.../php/login.php

i was told that you are covered up to 107,000 miles/7 years, whichever comes first. when my transmission crapped out, i was only at 97,000 miles, but the previous owner bought the car in 01, so i got screwed on the 7 year part. but Princelybug is right, they will do a goodwill request for you...but be warned...when i filled out the goodwill paperwork at the dealership, they told me they'd "cut me a break" and do it for around $3900. that wasn't much of a 'break' if you ask me, but i was gonna take what i could get...
hopefully you're covered 100%. good luck.

Come again? Details on said paperwork? Never knew the customer filled out paperwork (I was never asked to when I had problems).

the only things i literally wrote in myself were my name and address...then the service guy read the questions to me and i answered them and he wrote it down. i felt like i was back in 5th grade or something, haha. he wanted to know the exact mileage, date i bought the car, how many miles were on it when i bought it, how much was i WILLING to spend towards rebuilding the tranny (a very awkward question to answer, might i add), what would i do if i couldn't get the goodwill approved and had to pay full price, things of that nature. i can't remember them all exactly, but i think that was most of them. they were either black and white (like the mileage) or really vague and awkward to answer. i wonder why he was basically interviewing me if no one else ever had to do that?

Simple...he was trying to determine your threshold for pain. He basically wanted to find out how much he could charge you without you taking your car somewhere else to be fixed. They probably have the car salesmen teach them.

heres a phone number i got from an acura rep when i was having my transmission troubles... 800.999.5901 and i believe you press 2 for Acura (1 is Honda i think) and then you can speak with someone and ask if you're eligible. it's more reliable than the website i gave you, i wish i had remembered i had this number sooner.

you can register as owner by VIN on acura.com and look up recalls and other info on your exact car
or call 1-800-382-2238x5 gets a human at acura customer care
register there as owner and ask if any `open recalls` or if part of the `trans extended warranty`

the current limits are 7 years plus 9 months from first date sold or 109kmiles-
114.5 kmiles if part of vins that have odometer error court case

you can even look up the settlment and vin range- if your car is within those numbers- you are in

i have an 03 tl-s and my tranny blew a month ago with 90,000 miles. acura did nothing for me! only 2 months out of warrentee!!! thats a bunch of BS to me. A recalled tranny should be covered if it blows that soon! Acura, you lost a repeat customer!
