I have been searching for this noise for about 2 months.Well i finally found it with no thanks to the dealer.Had it in there a couple times. They were not able to find anything wrong with the car.Last time i had it in was at 74000 miles. My acura service contr. runs out at 75000.Car has 75086 on it now and of course they cant help me with the warranty. So been checking around for a new alt..Seems to me the best deal is at acuraoemparts.com.Anybody else know of any ideas.Thanks...formula 1

if remanuf part is half of the price, then go with that; it should be fine.

I would go in and speak with Service MANAGER and say, look- I had it in here well before limits and more than once -good faith effort by me, and your tech couldnt find the noise
Does he own a stethascope?? Most good techs do!!

Acura only knows what mileage is written on the form- its not like they require a pic of odometer- so the MANAGER can do whatever they want~

I find a box of good donuts generates a lot of goodwill from the dealer

NOTE: Never try to negotiate anything with a service WRITER
They are commission based salesman of auto repairs who would love for you to believe that you are out of warranty so they get another 10 bucks bonus
BS!!!!!!!!! to that

The MANAGER is responsible for the shop and what actions it takes.
Talk in person and only with that person
On the gen2 trans failure cars- if you took it in and they couldnt reproduce the problem and later it fails after limits- its automatically approved no hassle because you tried and they tried.
