All kinds of problems
All kinds of problems
Today i notice on my 99 TL that i could move the shifter without the keys in it or stepping on the brakes which i dont think should happen and the D4 light is blinking, the green key light is blinking and the now the car wont even turn over or start... please can someone give some info that might help me thanks
There was a recall for the ignition lock. Acura found out that in some TLs, you could take the key out without the shifter being in park, which could result in the vehicle rolling away.
Everything is most likely related to that problem (shifter out of park without the key in the ignition probably triggered the immobilizer system), so take it to the dealership and have the recall performed.

k thanks man, so the dealer is the only place to fix the imobilizer if thats thats the problem? any more ideas would be aprreciated thanks and where is the imobilizer unit located?
I don't know where the immobilizer unit is, and even if I told you, there's nothing you can do with it.
I mean, it could be from a number of other reasons, but my money would be on the ignition lock recall.
If you want to force start the car, then check the driver side fusebox. Locate the fuel pump fuse, and it is most likely fried. If it is, then replace with a new one, put the shifter back into Park, and the car should start.
If not, call the dealership for a tow. Good luck.

I don't know exactly for sure if it's caused by the ignition lock problem, but my best guess would be that it's related. With the shifter out of park, with no key in the ignition, the immobilizer must be thinking that the ignition system has been bypassed/broken in order to put the car in gear.
Have you checked the fuel pump fuse yet like I said? If it's shorted, then replace with a new one, and that *should* start the car again.
