air filter not replaced properly?

I had service done a few weeks back. Part of the service was to inspect the air filter. It was fine. I did notice that the tech had a real problem getting the filter and cover back on properly. Since then I've noticed the RPMs running higher on the highway (2000+ at 65mph) that before. COuld the air filter seating be the cause??

if its not seated correctly and all the cover screws down tight, or they broke an edge off the back corner and its not sealing tight, it will mess with the car in many ways

or may have left a hose clamp loose

ck it yourself or go back and ask the MANAGER to look at it

the filters have a big rubber edge just so they seal !!

It was fine- Did you see it?

Did you look at the airbox to see if it's fastened & sealed properly?

most places will try to sell you the air filter
A: if they have one in stock,
B: can show you at least some dirt on yours to justify their retail +30% price

Im guessing `it was fine` meant replaced less than a year ago?
maybe with its last oil change?
