Unhappy ABS, VSA & TRACTION CONTROL lights are on...

IT happened yesterday on my 2002 tl-s. It has 34000 miles on it. Does anybody know anything about this problem?

I have this issue, but i believe mine came on because I yanked on the abs sensor line a bit too much when I changed my lower ball joint.

when the VSA and Traction control lights went on for me, the transmission failed within a week. if you feel the gear slipping, then it could be a bad sign. i would bring it in to the dealer asap. luckily you should be cover under warranty since you only have 34K.

It could mean a number of things. Without knowing the codes all we can do is guess.

The problem was that the abs sensor wire was damaged, a changed it and all the bulbs turned off. My transmission was fixed during the recall 2 years ago and still like new. Anyway, thanks for your replies.

The recall was for installing an oil spray bar to 2nd gear

The extended warranty on the trans to 7 years 109k miles is totally different issue

Others with trans prob be glad you are getting a $4000 unit for free- and they will find the broken front motor mount and replace it for cheaper while there! score!!
It makes the car run like new

Got to be careful working on the brakes- many important things there~

did you replace the wire...or the sensor on the knuckle? I let my knuckle hang for like 2 mins when changing my ball joint...it hung from the sensor wire. Then i put something underneath the knuckle when changing out the ball joint. I unbolted the sensor but i didnt wanna knock it out, so i left it in. But i forgot to put the bolt back in...A few hours later, I drove about 200 miles on the highway going from mn to ia, i stopped at a city and at first, the "!" was flashing whenever i hit the brakes. Then as I left the city, the light stayed on, along with abs and vsa. So... ABS sensor? or...just the wire (if that's even replaceable by itself)?

^ disregard the above questions. I found out that I put the abs sensor wires on the wrong side of the knuckle when I put the knuckle back on. The wires rubbed against the axle for 400+ miles and ripped it off. I just soldered the wires back together and i'm back in business.

well, this same situation happened to me today, altho its been raining here. went to work this morning, everything was fine. went to lunch, all 3 lights were lit. drove about 2 miles to electric co, lights were off. drove another 2 miles to check my mail, lights back on. drove 1/2 mile to grab a bite to eat, lights off. left work tonight, and lights were back on.....could something be getting wet causing the lights to come on?? if so, where do i start looking for a cure? ive only had the car a cpl months, and this is the first issue ive had with it. and theres no local acura dealer(only a honda dealer that said they werent authorized to service acuras.....go figure) oh, its an 02 TypeS with roughly 86k

also noticed today that the passenger front floor is soaking, probably a good 1/2" of water in it. and i cant tell where its coming from. my first thought was heater core, but theres no loss of water in cooling system, and its doesnt smell or feel like anti-freeze.

The water leak in the passenger floor is most likely from sunroof drain being clogged.

well, i still havent figured out where the water is coming from, but wherever it is, its shorting out the ABS ecu. had 3 codes stored, 1 for the abs ecm, 1 for a tsa relay, and i forget what the 3rd was for. it hasnt rained all week, and no lights have come on. someone mentioned to me the seal for the windshield, had it checked, no leaks there. was also mentioned that it could be from the "fresh air" vents under the cowling at the bottom of windshield not being properly sealed as well. i just dont feel like tearing the whole dash out of the car to find the leak. so if anyone has pics or more info on the sunroof drains, ill look there next.

well, i tore the cowling off of the car today, and it would appear that the way the car was parked durin the rain storm may have been an issue here. i was parked on an incline with the front of car higher than the rear. my guess is that the water was puddling up and running in thru the "fresh-air" intake for the a/c, and not thru the drain. theres only like a 1/4"-1/2" lip around this opening, so i guess next time ill park the car "nose down" and hope that this was my problem.

it should reach the drain before going into the intake. Double check that nothing is obstructing it from doing so.

I park nose up by several degrees on the driveway every day, and never had a drop of water inside. There are likely drain holes to be found in the sunroof rim- just open roof and start looking.

It can be alot. It could be the tranny. The 2g trannys are crap. It could be a fuse. It could be an ABS pump or alot of times its just a sensor. Take it to a mechanic have them do a diagnostic.
