ABS and TCS Light ON

Hello,

I just noticed that the ABS and TCS light just came on.
The car has only 55000 miles on it.

I was wondering what could be this issue - the car runs perfectly fine without any issues.

Thanks,

Something is probably wrong with your ABS unit. I would reset it and see if it comes back on. If it comes back on, take it to the dealership. Keep in mind, while that light is on, I believe your ABS is disengaged.

Also take it to a local auto parts store and have them read the codes for you and let us know what they are.

An OBD2 code reader can't read ABS codes. On earlier models (to 98) you short the 2-wire Service Check Connector under the glove box and ABS light flashes the codes. I believe Acura discontinued this w/ later models, but if the blue SCS connector is under the glove box, give it a try. A special ABS diagnostics test unit may be necessary to obtain codes.

You will probably need a shop manual to get the code meanings.

Does the pump come on when you start and attempt to charge until the ABS light comes on? If yes, check fluid level in the ABS. It may be leaking fluid. This can be repaired sometimes.

good luck

Did you by any chance just change the insturment cluster. Sometimes the wrong clust will give you both errors.

Thanks,

I have the same problem on 99TL. ABS and TCS light always on. They lit up together about 3 months ago. I no longer have TC or ABS. Since both these functions no longer work, can I assume that the problem lies in the modulator....or can it still just be 1 sensor?

it could be a sensor since teh abs and tcs are the exact same system. Bring it in to get diagnosed
