About to buy..

I might be trading my car for a 2000 TL. What should I look out for when checking out a 2000? I know transmission, but what else? How can you tell if the transmission is acting up, like what should I look for more than anything or listen for.
Thanks in advance

I can't offer much in terms of advise because I have a CLS 6 speed. Also not sure why you would trade your 3G in your profile pic for something you know if it didn't have a problem it will at some point and maybe even more than once. Since the engine is the same as mine (TLS/CLS) I always read about both cars on here. I have to pat myself on the back because I wasn't a member until after I bought it and was going to buy a black 03 TLS with a lot lower miles. I'm glad I didn't though. That's no knock on my TLS bros at all or even the CLS bros. I'm just glad I didn't.

I guess the only thing I can offer is buy one then quickly do a swap of your tranny with a CLS6 tranny.

Oh yea and maybe having this moved to the TL 2G thread would help you get more responses...

I found the signs of a faulty transmission. What else should I look for in a 2000?

^that should really be it. Owning a '01 TL, that is the only problem. Other users had some problems with the auto-dim mirror, which was earlier recalled.

Heated seats, outside tilt mirror, aware of costs for 105k maitenance, ball joints, head lights, motor mounts... these are the main things i have seen in the forums...

How many miles are on it? Has it been in an accident before? How much?

Dang.. you are really downgrading your cars.. 3G TL, RSX, now 2GTL . Financial issues? I like your avatar of the 3G btw.

Bro...IMO get a newer 2G TL. Check it out? I have an 03 TL-P and the only issue was the tranny. Got it replaced under the warrenty. Besides that its a great car. Keep reserching and ull find the right car. Why did you go from a 3G to RSX to 2G? Most people upgrade.....just wondering.
