99 Tl supply and return transmission hoses

Question 99 Tl supply and return transmission hoses

Hello guy's,

Anyone that have a 2nd gen 99 Tl happen to know which transmission line goes into my radiator would be the return or supply line? When standing in front of my car looking down in front of my radiator i see two steel lines with hoses connected to my radiator and going into my transmission? I have the factory service manual but can't find any diagrams? Thank's

"Usually" the shortest end is the Inlet while the longest end is the Return line.


Still keyword here is "usually".

why do you want to know? installing an inline filter?

I finally found the diagram in my service manual under "atf cooler flushing", Yup...I'm installing a magnefine inline transmission filter.

did you look at rad- it may say IN OUT above the trans fittings

low tech method, remove line you think is return and start engine- with catch pail under line!
