99 Tl slow cd changing

99 Tl slow cd changing

hey, i have 99 tl with the stock cd player in it, i dont know if its just becuase their burned CDs, (i havnt tired a real one but ive tried differnt burnt ones) but when it switches songs it takes forever and they were brand new CDs with no scratches. is this normal for tl cd players?

Its normal for the stock to have very hard time reading Burned Cd's Your best bet is to find a 02-03 TL 6 disk or buy a aftermarket HU if you want it to read CD-rs.

Yes, I replaced the original head unit in my 1999 TL with the 6 disc model used in the 2002-2003 TL and it has zero problems with burned CDs.

Another option is to keep your stock player and hook up an iPod or MP3 adapter such as a Blitzsafe unit. I installed one of these at the same time I replaced the head unit and I hardly use the CD player any more. The Ipod holds an incredible amount of songs and you don't have to deal with CDs.
