99 TL problem

I have a 99TL, with 135K on the clock, so far no major problems, 2 motor mounts and 1 tranny mount.

Recently, I had a problem where the car started and then stalled, then started and everything was fine. A few days later same thing again.

I took it into a shop and he checked the throttle body and said he cleaned it a little, he checked the EGR and said it looked OK but cleaned it out a little.

Today when I started the car was surging at idle. 500 to a little less than 2000 rom, anyone have any suggestions??

Thanks
Keith

The surging is the idle air control valve. Do a search. It's a valve that's attached to the bottom of the throttle body. The shop, by cleaning the TB, must have clogged the IACV.

Oh and the stalling could be the ignition switch. There is a recall by Acura to fix it. Contact your local Acura dealer to find out if your car is under the recall.

Try to clean it first. Worst thing that happens is you can't. The IACV is a $100+ part.
