Unhappy 99 TL no electrical power, not ignition switch

Hello,

I'm a new member with an interesting issue.

I have a 99 TL that has been in the family since new. It is has served as my daily driver both my supercharged Integra Type-R (2001-2003) and now my heavily modded Evo 8 (2003-current). I work in finance and I don't like driving my modded, manual transmission cars to work.

I have always done all non warranty work on all of my cars myself. And I know a fair amount when it comes to auto repair.

Enough history here is the main issue. The car drove fine last night with no noticeable issues. When I went to start it this morning, the power in the whole car died! With the key in the accessories position everything works (radio, power seat, ect). When you move the key to ON everything lights up (check engine, a/c, everything). But when you turn the key to the start position to start the engine, all power cuts out and does not return until you disconnect the battery and re connect it. So if take the key out and try again the car has zero power when trying to get the accessories or the on position to work unless I reset the battery.

No onto what I've already tried.
So far I've changed the starter(it was changed a few years ago so I didn't think this was it)
I've also changed the common ignition switch problem. I changed it 2 years ago but I changed it anyway hoping it was a faulty new one.

Nothing has worked.

I changed the alternator a month ago and replaced the battery in august.

The battery has power, but I still tried to jump it with no luck.

The guy at the auto parts store said there is a common problem with the "multi meter". I'm not sure what he means by this but he said it behind the radio and is common on acura tl's and accords (which would make sense because of the similarities in the cars).

Please help if you can

-Erik

Check the ground cable where it bolts to the transmission. The last 6" or so is bare, and prone to corrosion. It may be hanging on by a thread. Make sure your connections are clean and tight at the battery and starter as well.

Haha, great minds think alike.

I was just coming on here to post that I fixed it and I see that you have figured it out too. That was the problem, I took some jumper cables and grounded it out better and it worked.

Thank for the help,
