99 3.2TL dies while driving, security light flashes
Hey everyone,
My buddy just bought a 99 3.2TL and a few days after he bought it, it suddenly started cutting of on him at random times while he's driving!!! He said the security light flashes like it has something to do with the factory alarm cutting off the car. I thought ya'll would know if anyone does. Anyone ever heard of this? And if so, what's the fix??
Thanks.

It's simple.
It's simple.
First, Your buddy needs to find out if the car has had the ignition switch recall done on the car.
He can find out by registering at acura.com under owners link. It will tell if its been done or not. If not thats a good place to start.

It seems like it could be the ignition switch, but since the security light flashes I'm wondering if it's something to with the alarm. For instance NSXNEXT, a moderator on this board wrote this about his car:
Check this:
When the car cuts out, does the radio and air work but not the windows & turn signals?
If so it is without a doubt the ignition switch. Mine did the same thing. Turns out my problem was my alarm was cutting power to the ignition switch.
It basically behaves the same way as if you turned the key to position 1 (the first click after you put the key in).

My issue was with an aftermarket alarm (Clifford Intelliguard 9000) not the stock immobilizer system.
