Transmission on its way out ........I got a friend that has found a 03 transmission for a TL with 80 thousand miles and a 02 with 113 thousand miles......my TL is a type s these Tl's are regular......does that matter...what should I look for on these used transmission......the used transmissions both thousand bucks each....install 400.....any input would be helpful....

Don't use the 99-03 Acura tl transmission, especially with that high of mileage. You will be running into the same problems with those. Try a lower mileage Honda odyssey or Honda accord v6 06-07 tranny. You can get one of those for around the same price with less miles. All you have to do is swap the range switches, tl filter and assemy, and maybe a few other things but it's easy and alot of people have done it. I myself will be swapping in a 07 accord tranny soon.

If you are looking for a trans alternative, get the accord trans. It is better than the CL/TL trans and works with the change of a few sensors.
