2002 TL axle seal issues
I have been having issues recently with my auto transmission leaking from the axle seal on the drivers side. I replaced the seal with Honda part # 91205-p0x-005 and it didn’t fix the issue. Thinking I may have not installed it correctly I replaced it again with a new seal making sure there was no grooves where the seal goes and making sure I installed it flush with the tranny. The axle itself is new as I replaced it during the last seal install as well. Am I using the correct seal? I’m pretty sure I installed it correctly making sure I didn’t damage the seal when installing the axle. I was going to try an after market seal on a last ditch effort just to see. The car has 240k on it. Am I missing anything? Is this a sign the tranny is on its way out? It shifts fine. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have OEM axles or aftermarket ones on the car?
If they are aftermarket, it's possible that the axle shaft diameter where it goes through the seal is slightly smaller than OEM and that's what's causing the leak, even with a brand new OEM axle seal.

You have the correct seal.
Generally speaking, using non OEM axles on these cars will lead to disappointment. Poor fitment, vibrations and short longevity.
If there was nothing wrong with the old OEM axle, try reinstalling it to see if it likes the second seal you installed.

I got to messing around with this some more finally. When the axle is installed should I be able to move the axle up and down where the axle enters the transmission? I'm guessing that's a not good thing. Is that a sign of needing a new tranny? Or is that something that can be fixed?
