Welcome Sherwin22.

First of what year exactly is your TL, There was no Type S in that model year.
Best thing to do is check the fluid level while the engine is off and warm on a level surface and also have the front engine mount checked out.

If that checks out ok then start looking into the 2006-07 Accord V6 transmission (AV6) its the proven alternative for these cars. Do Not rebuild it avoid headaches.

It's a 2001 and I've done all of those things and they check out fine and I heard that the 06 07 might fit but I've also heard that only the 2001 acura tl'S fit my year

It will fit a lot of members have done it, Check your local salvage yards for pricing.
If its an 01 then its not Type S, even if it has the Type S badge on the trunk.

Only years of the 2G TL-S are 2002 and 2003..

If its a 2001 you have a TL-p unless you swapped the Engine and Still isn't a real TL-S.
The AV6 Trans will fit nicely on your TL-p you just gotta delete the P/S Speed Sensor.

On these transmission swapps to Av6. Would the transmission be manual or automatic? I usually see manual.

The AV6 Swap is the Automatic only! Manual Accords don't have a Limited Slip Differential they have fully open Differentials which are prone to make un-even power delivery...
The only Manual Transmission you want is from the CL Type-S 6 Speed Manual which comes with an LSD!.. An Accord Manual doesn't even compare in Performance.

So! In short: If it isn't from a CL-S 6 Speed Manual? Stick with Automatic!.
