2000 TL - Tuneup or Not?

My 2000 TL has 106K miles on it and still runs beautifully. I don't measure mileage but my gut feeling is that it is still pretty good. The manual says it should have a tuneup but I'm of the 'if it ain't broke - don't fix it' school. One friend said that he'd be concerned about trying to remove the plugs from the aluminum block after 10 years.

What do you all think?

Joel

its ready for plugs- they remove without issue, if concerned shoot a small amount of wd in there

the real thing you need is the 105 service - timing belt water pump, coolant, plugs- valve adjustment- that runs 1000-1500 at most shops

there is a honda dealer near you doing it for about 500
look in the main thread title list in 2nd generation

if the timing belt breaks or its tensioner or pulley fail- major engine destruction is assured
This is not something to blow off as it aint broke

the brake fluid,ps fluid need to be changed to prevent expensive repairs too

ever change the `cabin air filter` for the air you breathe?

call acura and see if any recalls effect you- there is a new one on airbag inflator

just had my timing belt, water pump,tentioners/pulley replaced. just do it and have peace of mind. orig owner said timing was replaced @105k but my research revealed it wasnt done. honda tech confirmed this when he replaced timing belt, he said it was the original belt w/ honda emblem still on it.....i can feel the difference immediately...cost me 500 plus parts....good 2 have honda/acura friends like here on acurazine. wouldny u agree
