159K fixes??

159K fixes??

Hi all I have a 01 TL just turned 159K this week any suggestions on what I should have checked out, repaired or replaced for the future?

Do you have the Acura manual in the glovebox? It should tell you what you need to do at what mileage/years. I would go by that. Unless you do not have anything needing repair right now I would not worry too much.

One thing I would do is start saving up for an AV6 swap/6mt, whatever you prefer, for when your trans takes a dump, which it will do, only time will tell when it happens.

Obviously this is only if you plan on keeping the car for a long time. As the TL trans is the only known major issue and everything else on the car will perform great with routine maintenance.

Ball Joints, Sway Bar Links, Radius Rod Bushing, Basically check every single rubber thing in the car which should be dry or hardened by now.

flush brake fluid, flush ps fluid, Change trans fluid and filter, USE HONDA DW-1 ATF

ck coolant- only get 5 years max after the initial 7 years/105kmiles on oe coolant
additives break down and do bad things to aluminum home!!

new brake lines- oe are rubber, 100-125 dollars gets you a full set of SS lines which give improved braking and don't wear out like rubber
