I have an 03 tl s-type and I think I want the av6 swap. Car seems like it can't decide if it wants to be in 2nd or 3rd gear which makes it go into flashing d5 mode. Checked code and changed the trans sensor but didn't help. So av6 it is. Do I need to look for a remanufactured one or any will do? And no need for the extra oiler on top because problem has been fixed? If anyone knows a good shop in the eastern nc sc va area let me know!!!! Thanks guys any advice,help,tips appreciated

Check the "Regions" Forum. Ya may have better luck finding somebody able to help within your locality. Also try your local independent tranny shops or import tuners.

Research your local salvage yards for sourcing an AV6 donor tranny. Those guys may be able to hook ya up with an installer. They have the connections and can maybe even do it for ya.

 

Best bang for the buck would be to check your local salvage yards. Shop around and get some estimates to sort out your options a lot better. Some yards will also install it for you.
