I dont know why but just randomly or whenever i stop short the center console pops open...iv heard this is a common problem with Tl's does anybody know how to fix it.

 

The doors on my center console would never latch and I fixed them using the information in the following thread:

It's a matter of taking it apart and adjusting some gears.

 

Open the console and tighten the screws on the lock for both the armrest and the tray (look on under side armrest and tray).
If one of the locks is shot, order a new one. There is one for the armrest and one for the tray

Disregard my comments above. I was thinking about the hinged doors above the cupholder,not the center console.

When this happened on mine, it was the 83407......tray lock. There's a tsb on it. The hook part is now a couple mm longer. Usually in stock, fairly cheap, and an easy install.
