03 foglight HID setup
I've purchased 5k hid foglights but they seem to be the exact same color as my 6k ones. I replaced the ballasts thinking it was under powered but it was the exact same thing. I tried 3 different sets but it was all the same color. Anyone have any suggestions on a good set of 5k ballasts/bulbs or a fix? My headlights are 5k and I'm wanting them to match up in color. TIA

If youre using aftermarket HID bulbs, color temperature from one batch to the next can be the difference of 1-2000 degrees (kelvin color). Most aftermarket suppliers dont have stringent/tight standards as a manufacturer like Phillips or Sylvania. This is to be expected and happens frequently in my experience. If aftermarket bulbs/ballast are a must due to an OEM supplier not making your vehicle bulb number in HIDs, then I generally go with Morimoto or CN Light. Both have which have respectable tolerances in both the design and manufacturing process of their equipment. Dont get me wrong here, theyre still NOWHERE near Phillips who invests millions of dollars testing and research alone to fine hone their designs and subsequently...their product reliability! If your bulb number isnt the typical D2S or D2R, then go with Morimoto or CNLight over ANY others. You will see way less problems like youre seeing.
