02 Type S Gauge Cluster Light Bulbs

Hey all,
I am in search of someone who knows the factory bulb number (or simple mod) for the backlights of the gauge cluster on the Type S. Half of my bulbs are out but the needles are functioning properly which leads me to believe it's not a fuse issue. I am just trying to pick up some replacement bulbs asap. All help is appreciated!

Welcome Tom5 !!!
There's plenty of great info on the cluster lighting bulbs and mods available by utilizing the site's "Search" feature. Once ya get the hang of using the search button, you'll have access to most anything that ya want to know about your TL ...... without waiting for a response.

Years and years of many experienced 'Ziners, with documented facts and "DIY"s on everything from A to Z.

Thanks for the info, I tried a few different searches and found a two or three good threads to help with the removal and install but nothing in regard to factory bulb number. I found the LED mod but the hotspots aren't really appealing to me. Most of the threads I found were four years old so I wasn't sure if there was anything better/newer. I'll probably just end up taking it off and going to the auto parts store with it.

Thanks for the welcome, I'm new to this forum as I've just bought this car, but I'm active on a few others. That's why I went to search tool first. Lol

our search doesn't look up 3 letter sets, so EGR wont yield results = use an outside search with + acurazine.com for better results in certain searches

For you on bulbs- go back to the main page and see the thread near top of list on dash lights
Might have what you need there
Otherwise, there are online parts diagrams with pics

I would try the cars owner book, specs page
if it wasn't with the car go to Acura Owners Site | Exclusive Knowledge, Service, & Benefits for a free download of your years.
Also register as new owner on the care center = recall notices sent from here need your current address! 1 800 382 2238x5 gets a human
Ask if all recalls are done- we have a few recent ones for the airbag and other problems
You might score big time there!
see Recall section in your acura online account too- but the 800# has most current info
The VIN list on new airbag problem grows every week

welcome to acurazine!

Awesome info, I'll def get on that stuff. I can tell a tuner was the previous owner of the car so it will be interesting to see what was maintained and what wasn't.

The owners manual didn't have anything on the dash bulbs but I'll check out that thread you suggested. Thanks for the help gents.

ask the person in the other threads for the old bulb numbers- hopefully they are sitting in a tool box drawer!

acura should be open tomorrow if you need to call the dealer parts for help

Go to acuraautomotiveparts.org and fill in the info with what car you have. Then under the components section click meter components. There you will find which bulbs you need. Most dealers have to special order them though.
