02 TL-S Headlight Problem
02 TL-S Headlight Problem
Ok, I know that there are many posts on this, but I have a question that I have not seen answered.
When I use a power tester, I get power on the fusebox for my passenger headlight, I get a power read. And I know this may sound like a stupid question, but am I supposed to get a power read if I put the meter directly in to the headlight socket? I don't. So does that mean I have a break in the line or a bad ballast or ignitor?
I don't want to have to remove my battery to get to my drivers side headlight so this as as far as I've gotten with diagnosing.

If you get 12v to your ballast and ignitor than you should be getting light. Swap your bulbs, and if this doesn't work than it sounds like it could be your ballast or ignitor. There is no easy way of finding the problem. You're going to have to remove your front bumper cover and headlamp units and swap out the ballast or ignitor from your passenger side to find out if they are faulty. Was your headlamp exposed to moisture. This will definately fry your ballast. What you could do is dry it out for a week and try it again. This happened to mine. I fixed the headlamp and plugged my ballast in and it worked.
Good luck

Good luck
