That was such a big job you did that probably only a few would want to do. I tip my hat to you hands down.
What kind of weed does your car smoke to reach 200,000m?
Really curious and many thanks for any info =).
Still anyone out there w 150,000+ miles original engine & transmission. Share please.

the motor was 220k when i swapped it for the 6 speed setup. I didnt stick a thing into that motor. Ran 15k oil change intervals, didnt burn a drop of oil. I went thru 5 trans that led up to the conversion
Yes, there are a few with that mileage with original trans and motor. Motors are not a issue with these cars, trans are.

I just reached 105000 this week, got one transmission replacement at 52000 miles, and so far so good.
I've just finished the 100000 miles maintenance, it is quite costly to get the timing belt, spark plug, seafoamed, replaced 4 tires, a new HID ballast, 4 wheel alignment and front tie rod replaced.
I feel the engine is good for atleast another 200000 miles, I peeked inside through the oil cap and it is sparkling clean, it's just a matter of how the transmission will hold up.

Piggylover1985, did you rebuild your own trans? I can't see dropping $3K on a rebuild. My 02 TL is at 225K. I don't know that the tranny has ever been done, but it is starting to act like it's in neutral when trying to take off from a light. I'm about to do another fluid change in a minute.
If you did, how difficult is it, how much do parts cost? I work in a machine shop, so other than special tools, I have access to measuring equipment and such machines.

Thanks man! How much of a problem is it to just take the Trans. out? I've got a friend in OH that has offered to rebuild it, but I do not have a lift.
I really need to get a Helms manual. I replaced the engine/trans. in my 98 Prelude, but that was considerably smaller combo.
I like your sig too! I had a 87 Buick GN, and a Chrysler Conquest that I couldn't get running. Gotta love Turbo cars!

For me isn't so bad, i had been doing this for a living for almost 15 years. If someone never doing it before, but have good of knowledge about how to turn wrenches, and could pay attention to what they're doing, then they can be train to do it. But not to easy of a job. Cost depends on what's wrong with the your transmission. Cost me a few hundreds bucks, but i know ways of doing it. You will at least need a rebuild kit, 3rd clutch pack and switch. Might need a converter, linear solenoids, i say somewhere in the ball park of $1000 or less. I can rebuild it on the bench in about 6hrs @ the shop with all proper tools.
to bring my car should it have a trans problem.
I still need to meet one.

Is your Quest a wide body intercooled with stagger rims, the same thing as a Starion, mine had SS header, 2-1/2"SS down pipe straight out, cai,mbc @ 13psi, walbro fuel pump, 1000cc injectors, best 89 rear end, axles, hubs, drive shaft, 255mm slick tires in the back, alot of weight lost, it will break loose in 3rd gear easily, i thought it was cool for a 4 popper. It hit 140 mph 1 time, could push a little more, but i was scared. lol

It was a wide body 88. All the bearings were in the oil pan when I got it. Picked it up for $400. Lady told me it just quit running. I wasn't going to go into a rebuild so I sold it for $550 to some guy that had a couple. That was a few years ago. I wish I could have got it running!
