SABER Badges...

opinions??? i aint going for the SABER grill though... its not really my style im looking for... As for why did I go with SABER and not INSPIRE???? wanted to be and do something different... thanks for looking....

what year should it be??? that is the 98 accord one... but yeah the front i took off the A and put a H for now painted it black... it looks alright for now until i figure out what to do with my grill...i didnt want to be running Honda/Acura... that would be kind of weird... right on! for your new purchase... i was thinking about getting the visors too... how much did you get it for??? thanks for the comment!

 

the correct H is solid. take a look at REV01's car. he has the one you should be running. the one you have is similar to the 02-03 TL, except yours is smaller.

as for the grille, get in touch with www.aj-racing.com i know they have the grille for the 02-03, call them and ask about the 99-01.

i actually got both the shift knob and the visors for $200. jspecinspire had paid half the balance, but he crashed his car so he hooked me up. ajr has the price listed on their website for them though.

 

I have contacted several JDM importers and no1 seems to be able to obtain the saber or inspire grille for 99-01 TL's. If you find someone, please let me know. Thanks.

yea, a lot of the parts ended up being scrapped. he told me to go pick-up some parts off his car, but by the time i got there, the insurance had already towed the car away

worst part is, he had just got the car back from having it completely repainted, value sports body kit, lowenhart br5's... everything was looking good and ready to show

 

such a hot car but why the badges? BADGELESS looks way better.

the badages are allright i guess, i like the de badged look better.

in japan, the 1st and 2nd generation Acura TL is known as both the Honda Inspire and the Honda Saber.

 

i know that TLs are Inspires in Japan, im talkin bout all this saber stuff. there must b a difference, right? what makes a saber?

 

im not 100% sure, but i think its liek a base model or something.

 

they both have type-s. saber and inspire are sold thru different honda network. there is three different honda dealers there

ok look:

in the USA we have the Acura TL.

in Japan, there is no Acura... only Honda.

therefore, the Acura TL is known as the Honda Inspire and the Honda Saber.

the reason that it is known as teh Saber and the Inspire at the same time, is because they are sold through different honda networks like REV01 said. why are they sold through different honda networks? who cares! thats the way it is.

in the end, Acura TL = Honda Inspire = Honda Saber.

The Honda Sabers and the Honda Inspires are different only in cosmetics. The big difference is that the Honda Sabers have orange reflectors while the Inspires have clear lens.

The 95-98 Honda Sabers are equivalent to the 95-98 Acura TLs because they both have orange bumper lens, orange reflectors in the tail light, and the same style grill.

The 95-98 Honda Inspires are different because they have the clear bumper lens, clear tail lights (no orange reflectors), a different style grill (a chrome strip running across the grill), and side markers.

I'm pretty sure it's the same for the 2nd gen TLs.

 

I thought the Saber was a 4 cylinder and the Inspire was a 6 cylinder. Dunno just thought.

 

nah the sabers were never 4 cylinder....but there were sabers that had the 2.0 engine which produced only 160HP. Even the inspires had the 2.0 engines.

the sabers had the 2.0, 2.5, 3.2 engines just like the inspires.

 

to clarify:

2.0 - 5 cylinder
2.5 - 5 cylinder
3.2 - 6 cylinder

 

can you tell me where did you find that emblem for your car?? where can i buy that ??

he's right about the cosmetic stuff, because when i was in japan i saw a 03 saber (just like a 03 TL) but he had orange taillights (like the 00 TL's in the us) thats how the sabers came for all years....and when i saw inspires from 99-01 they had red and clears like the 02-03 TL's in america, pretty trippy if you ask me
