New Pics - Finally Got Springs

I've had a my car for awhile, but I just started to put stuff on it. The car looks a lot better lowered, but I have to do granny driving over bumps and stuff now. Enjoy.

BTW, I got my fenders shaved and my tabs cut yet I'm still rubbing in the back. Anyone have any ideas on what else I can do besides get new rims?

Adjust the rear toward negative camber just enough to clear your fender. The rear suspension can handle moderate negative camber without prematurely wearing out your tires.

Excuse me sir! how dark are your tints?.. that is, if you do have tints. If not, this question is non-applicable.

Love the drop on H&R Sport! with 18s, maybe it easier to scratch the front lip while goes over bump and stuffs, but with stock 17s, it's not that bad at all. Just watch over the cement block in front of the parking. That can ruin the front lip easily.

Are you coming to the meet July 16th in El Dorado park?

Mine rubbed in the passenger rear after I installed the Eibachs.

It would rub if there was anyone in the backseat, or if I hit a pothole.

I just jacked the rear up and tapped the fender's inside lip with a hammer until it curled up and out of the way. Took like thirty seconds to do. Hasn't rubbed in four years! I have 19" ALTs with Nitto 555 225/35s

Too bad that didn't work for you. I guess you would have to adjust the camber like mr.moto said..

you'll need to roll the fenders...cutting and trimming them won't do it fully for our setup. i had the same problem up till i got them rolled, then the rubbing was gone even with camber zero'd out. good luck.

I dont know much, but I do have a few friends with lowered rides and big wheels. Someone mentioned rolling the fenders, this is a trick I have heard of. Another one that is more recent and popular with some of the people I know. You can actually send the rims off to a shop and have the hub shaved. I have a friend with a Caddy on 22s. He did this and has no probs what so ever. Just thought I would throw that out there.

PS. The car looks good keep up the good work.

it is not a good idea to shave your hub on your wheels. it compromises the strength and integrity of the wheel which compromises your safety. i've just heard all negative things about shaving it down to fit your car, so i suggest not to. i have RH C5's with the same specs as your wheels. you just need to roll the fender a bit (which is basically just mashing it so it won't be at a 90 degree angle which hits your tires. visualize the fender as L verses I/...the I/ is the rolled fender which will give you more clearance for the tires. hope you can picture what i'm trying to say. sorry for the long post.

Thanks everyone for all your comments, suggestions and compliments !! Here are responses to some of the questions.

1. Yes, the windows are tinted. I'm not sure how dark, but I've haven't been pulled over in over 4 years so I guess they are not too dark in the eyes of the cops. They were the darkest the shop had without going super illegal dark.
2. Spec on the wheels are as follows. 18x7.5 42 offset
3. July 16th meet in El Dorado park. I'll try to go but I'll have to find out where El Dorado Park is.
4. You can't tell from these pics, but my front lip is pretty scraped up on the bottom. If it gets scraped too much more, I might either take it to get painted or just get a new lip.
5. I'm using my stock struts right now. Might go with Tokico's in the future.

As for the rubbing, it is really bugging me. I can't tell where it's rubbing so I don't know which part needs to be shaved more. I've gone back to the shop twice now and they've shaved more but it's obviously still not enough. I want to make sure I know what part is rubbing before I go back for the third time so I put some duct tape on the inside of my fender to see where the tires are rubbing. Hopefully that will indentify the problem area.

ronbramlett, did you hammer in the lip on the entire fender? Didn't that do anything to your paint? I'm thinking of doing what you did, but I'm always cautious because I'm not a pro and don't want to mess anything up.

I don't want to rain on your parade but if more people read this thread:

https://acurazine.com/forums/car-parts-sale-361/01-cl-s-stuff-sale-121066/

Then there won't have to be that much cutting tabs / rolling fenders.

Nice pics of the car though.

I have 225/40...pretty standard tire size for 18's.

Vtlec01..what size rims and tires do you have? I'm thinking I'll run on these rims for a little bit longer and then probably look for some rims w/+45 offset.
