My Lengthy Journey to Black Out the Headlights on My 02 AM + 6000K *Mass Pictures*
The past 3 days I dedicated my life to blacking out my headlights. I was excited because I haven't seen any pictures of 02/03 AM's with blacked out headlights (Color-matched, I've seen). I also blacked out the silver edge of the lense to make it more like the A-Spec headlights. Well here's my pictures...
P.S. I'll probably take more pictures after I wash my car :P
I took off the rubber stuff and wetsanded the silver paint on the edge of the lense.
I Blacked them out...
Took me 2 hours to wetsand each of these beezies...
No more retarded looking silver edges, yayyy.
After Washing the front end...
... phew.
6000K low beams, HID fogs to match, kind of.
Umm... might need to get some LED's.

yeah for sure, I just finished last night around 10pm so I couldn't get daytime pictures. I'll take some pictures today after I wash my car.
Yeah I fucked with the headlight aim on my right headlights on accident :P gotta fix that >_<
I'll post more pix of what I did, and shouldn't have done :P

Do's and Do Not's
Okay these are something's that happened to me so be careful.
Don't touch this... Leave it unless your headlight aim is messed up.
If you want your headlights to be perfectly black, take off the foam and rubber padding on the lense (while the headlight is ripped open), wetsand all the silver paint off that you can see (rememebr to tape off the areas that may get unwanted paint on) and apply the paint about 2 or 3 times then the finish (read the paint info on the picture with the spray paints I used)
The inner silver that you see is the reflection of the top silver line, so don't worry about painting on the inside of the lense, just wetsand really, really well (I did 600, 1000, 2000 grit, and lense polish in that order).
I'm sure all of you have your own preferences about paint application, but this is what I did mostly (and should've done) and came out fine. Remember to let the finished product dry for like a day, I didn't and it kind of scraped the paint on an edge when I put the painted piece back into the lense piece.
For those of you who want to leave chrome in the blinker housing (practical, even though some people go for the looks and black it out, which I would've done if I had LED blinkers) use blue Scotch 3M painter's tape ONLY, and make sure there are no holes that the paint can get through to the chrome. To keep the tape from blocking areas you want to paint, use an XACTO knife or a razor to, again, CAREFULLY sut the tape, you might cut some chrome off so just let the razor move on it's on (if it's a new blade, it'll cut through the tape like a hot knife through butter if you just push lightly). TAPE OFF THE BULB INSERT IN THE BACK AS WELL. And rememer to CAREFULLY remove the tape once your done.
If you have any questions just ask away, I'm sure one of the people who have blacked out their headlights can answer them
I'll post daylight pictures in a few hours.

............
the corner's look weird unpainted while the lower corner(where the orange reflector used to be) is painted....you should have left the reflector area unpainted, or painted the corner area.
looks awesome though.
i will be doing mine soon, i just want my hi and low beam reflectors to remain chrome.

Same here i tend to dislike how our cars looks when the complete amber is gone, it doesnt look attractive as much.....i dont know it just doesnt give that look to me, but great job on the lights, they came out pretty dam good, im waiting to buy brand new headlights then do my black housing.....My hi-beam will be yellow though, and the rest the same as the ASPEC....
