Lowered, Painted, Washed!
Lowered, Painted, Washed!
Hey all!
FINALLY a good day here in Upstate, NY!
took my car to the car wash, got inside and out cleaning and put the finishing touches on my shocks (adjusted for evenness)
here's the pics lemme know what you think!
BEFORE:

(p.s. I know I have messed up bumpers...I have new ones but I'm going to put those on when I paint my car, ones FPR and one's SSM)
AFTER:

At the Car Wash, the car was too low for the guy driving it up to the washers. He was complaining lolol.

Next mods: headlight baking and clearing. New Paint and dent fixing and lip. Rims. Profit.

^I know there's tons of overspray....but if you read my DIY on wheel painting (I assume no one did) I specifically mentioned that I was getting new tires VERY soon so the time it took to wrap the old tires versus just spraying them didn't work out for me.
I'm getting snow tires on this week so it didn't make sense for me to wrap them when it'd be spending only about 2 weeks with some overspray.
the rims themselves don't look bad and have held up.
and Beat-Freak...they're thumbnails, just click them. That way the thread is condensed a bit.

read above for the wheel problems.
as for the low, my main goal was to reduce the wheel gap, which is now less than 1 finger.
I have new front and rear bumpers and a piecemeal lipkit which i'll install when I paint my ride (all the bumper and lip pieces are different colors) so that'll lower it some more.
It's on Koni Adjustable and HR Race springs it's a little more than 2inches and the springs are still seating themselves
More importantly, this is about as low as I can go and still have a functional car for the winter. Upstate new york is in no way shape or form the same as "lowcal" come November

SMH, I painted my wheels as you did, and took my time, and the outcome is great. The point is doing it right and not to cut corners even if you're getting new tires. Life lesson, it's the details that matter.
i agree with you big picture.
in this particular case, it was more cost effective (yes, time) to spend two days painting the rims rather than 4 or 5 days.
the rims themselves look great. they've held up and they have a nice shine. why should i care about tires that are going to be burned in two weeks? Instead of putting the extra two days into the taping and blocking out of tires that are going to be disposed, I got an extra two days to work on my research. When I decide on my opportunity costs, getting my research done is much more valuable than keeping temporary tires black.

I have a FPR and SSM bumper
a ABP front, 1 NBP side, 1 SSM side, and a DEP rear lip
so yeah I COULD put it on lolol but that'd be an interesting situation no?
yeah but judging by the license plate that car is actually an inspire or saber from japan
Isn't it funny how they swap to USDM while we're all JDM yo!?
and yeah I pray that the car was put back to the proper settings

Thanks man! haha yeah it's treating me well, I just bought a Razo shift knob
so i'm pretty pumped for that.
I'm looking to paint the stockies for the winter (probably white) and I got a secret project
that I'm gonna do probably now over the christmas holiday season
Then it's off to look for a set of rays on the bm
