sitting at the red light and some guy hit me in the back at about 20 to 25 mph. taking my car to the shop to access the damages on monday. look at the pictures and you will see the back of the car is off center and hanging down. from the impact it also messed up my jl1000/1 in the trunk. and i also had water in the trunk from the rain last night. hopefully i can get the shop to repaint the whole car since the car is a 99 and had the factory paint on it. new paint plus old paint doesnt really match up well, but we will see. im ok and since im in the military health insurance is free, so there is no to sue. i just want my car fix and my amp replace. good deal on that i hope. anymore suggestion let me know.

Bummer. But they wont repaint the old car. They (if tis a good shop) will blend it and you will never know.

Does not look like "20 - 25 mph" though - more like 10 (unless there is some damage not showing up in the pics).

My wife had our 2G hit almost exactly the same way. That *was* ~25 mph; the Trunk Lid Crumpled and both fenders/rear quarters were bent, broken tail light and the bumper was folded under. After the trunk was opened, it could not be re-closed. All Told it was ~$3,500 in damage. Got it fixed - good as new.

thanks man. i really wanna no what i can do to get to get the whole thing painted. you really cant blend it in. but we keep all updated. thanks for the responses

a good shop should be able to blend that no problem. Remember, you get to take it to a shop of YOUR choice, not theirs.

The first weekend that I had my car I got rear ended and luckily for the kid that hit me his uncle owns an auto body shop. They did a really good paint job and blending of the paint, so there is nothing to worry about. The car should look the same when it is finished being repaired. That sucks about your amp hope you can get a deal on another one.

they said they woud give me appraisals for repairs and replacement before i go to the shop. i just gotta leave everything in there. i even get a new car seat ha ha ha. my lil girl will be happy.

I got rear ended as well in less than a month of owning the car. Lol, so I know how you feel!

And why is that? Do you paint? I do. If its a good shop they will be able to blend the paint with the rest of the car so you wont know. Odds are them repainting the whole car will come out worse.

well add another SSM to that list. i got rear ended today, luckily mines not as bad and my lip didnt get damaged

gieco sucks. they gave me the run a runs trying t fix my car. i guess from the impact my jl1000 and my 300/4 got messed up in the process. gieco paid me for the 1000 but dont wanna give my money for the 300/4. im pissed. but the car is somewhat fix. will put pics up later. im down here in panama city, fl right now picking up some real horse power.
