Nice ride! I'm interested in the rear flare/wide effect. Where did you get it? Or the name at least. I'm getting a paint job soon on my 2gen, adding lip kit too. These flares would be nice to add while I'm at it.

So underneath the flares are the fenders cut? Im gonna say this right now...no matter what the others say as long as your happy with your car thats all that matters. With that being said I'm pretty interested in what reactions your going to get with this set up...

I dont know how the rest of your exhaust set up is but if you add headers, delete your mid-muffler, add a magnaflow cat.converter and do 2.5 inch piping to a 2 OR 2.5 inch Y-Pipe.... you will LOVE the sound. I wish i had a video of my finished set up with the Comptech mufflers but that's the set up that i went with and it was VERY SMOOTH and had a VERY nice Deep Tone!

i've always wanted to see a TL with fender flares.... but this isn't what i had in mind.
way too much going on... and it's not low enough or aggressive enough

if you went full on shakotan style with it, it probably would have looked better. IMO

if you enjoy it, you enjoy it

where did you get the fender flares? did you shop do the cutting and install for you? i think you should add a flare to the front as well. it looks a little awkward with just the rears aggressively flared.

also you're going to need to go with a wider rear setup. now you could probably fit at least an 18x11 back there

Are front fenders cut by hand? In the pictures the driver's side fender edge looks rough/deformed. Why is the hood sticking up? Was it converted to Vette/Jaguar style hood, where it flips open to the front?

More than likely he has the Honda pilot intake manifold spacer which a few inches tall. You can't close your hood once you install it so you hae to do what he did. I've only seen one other person make a custom hood where he can close it all the way

You guys can get those fender flares anywhere, just google it real quick or go through the s30 or 240z forums. Bunch of people run those fender flares. How wide did you end up going? 50mm?

Lowness is actually just right. my coils are actually down to the very bottom, doesnt appear as low because of my chunky tire set up, i also already rub front tires when hard turning. And... too low is not FUNctional when gripping through the backroads

EBay, "Jendosa Fender Flares". I did the cutting and install but eventually i will adjust it again and repaint it. it comes in the mail glossy black. Eventually yes i will add a fender flare to the front to even the look out... 18x11 does sounds tempting.... or bigger spacers as well.....

i rolled the front fenders a while while back ago with a bat so that i could fit a different set of wider wheels from stock size before i heard about fender rolling with a real roller. then i got these wheels but put chunkier tires, so i had to widen out the fender more, instead of using a bat i used the "phone book" method.. which actually worked out smoother but the dents from the bat method remained. eventually ill get around to applying bondo to smooth out the wrinkles. or just put a front fender flare to cover the mess ups.

hood is sticking up to release some hot temperature from the motor out of the bay,. iv'e done research and there have been testings that show that the engine was 15 degrees cooler with the gap, from completely closed shut. also,. with my own simple test.. i was able to place my hand on top of the intake manifold and hold it there for at least 40 seconds longer, rather then 2 seconds before feeling burn on my palm. plus i was bored, seen the look, liked it, and did it.

Well the spacer goes under the manifold. If I'm not mistaken the 06 mani does not change much , we have to get the the type s 04+manifold for mas power . Someone correct me if im wrong .

^ we need the magnesium 09+ SH-AWD intake manifold. I think the 3G type s manifold is still aluminum so there wouldn't be any point of upgrading to that.

Exactly but I believe the 09 intake manifold had a 80mm opening giving you the option of running a bigger throttle body. 09 tl intake manifold is larger allowing more air if I remember correctly

Rear flares are POINTLESS with a 9" wide wheel. with a flare that size you could run 12" wide wheel. Dont do spacers.. you would need a 50mm spacer to fill out that flare.

I'd really like to see your car with the front and rear flares. and wide enough wheels to match the flares!
