Arrow Got any recommendations for rims?

So its summer time, and I have some spare cash to invest in my car, and would like to purchase some nice looking rims.

I came across the Zyoxx ZX8 w/Blue Inserts, but I'm having second thoughts about them now.

So I just wanted to ask all you guys what you would recommend I get.

My car is a 2002 TL-S in ABP, with the full OEM Body Kit, 3A Exhaust Tips, and NO drop (not planning on droping it either, especially while I live in New York)

I am only willing to get 18 inch rims, nothing larger

So if you have anything in mind that you think will look good on my car, please post the name of the rims, and if possible a picture, Thanks

I would, but my wheels have lots of scratches on them right now, and they kinda look ugly too, maybe the chrome type s rims would look better....

if you dont plan on dropping it... just alter the look slightly n get the 01-02 cl type s wheels. you dont want aftermarket wheels without a drop... unless you plan on offroading ... my personal fav aftermarket rims are cl platano's .. but they are 19's and dont know how easy they are to come across.

ok great suggestions guys, but im not made of money here, all these wheels are expensive...

I dont wanna spend more than $1200 on rims, cause I still need to get tires which will cost me another ~ $600, and then there's installation....so basically I cant spend more than $2,000 on the whole thing.

like someone said earlier, get yourself a clean set of CL-S rims from 01-02? and youll be set, you should be able to pick those up in decent condition for under 1k. Check out the TSX rims, they fit perfect and look good aswell

im not a big fan of those rims, I want something in chrome, but not too much chrome, and something that will look good with the car.

and I actually have CL-S rims right now, and all this time I thought they were TL-S rims....

You're not going to get incredibly nice wheels, especially not chrome for under a total of 2k...I would suggest what some others have said and find another factory wheel that fits well.

Maybe the newer 04-06 Apsec wheel?

This is a great looking wheel, but I think they may be out of the budget he is mentioning..

i live in NY myself, But if you are getting 18ns i will recommend you a DROP man, thats when the Rims Shine. As long as you know how to get around the potholes, you good. I had my other 02TLP dropped with 18ns and never had any problems.
Infact in droppin my 03typeS next week followed by 18ns

I it's been addressed already but i'll say it neways: DO NOT BUY WHEELS if ur not going to drop it. it will just look STUPID! Stick with the Type-S wheels u already have or get some better looking CLS wheels!! but dont waist 2k on 18's.
give or take

I live in N.Y. and I'm dropped and I have no prob at all. Just keep your eyes open for those potholes and your golden. I was in the market for some aftermarket 19's but I've decided to rock the factory Joints(17 type s wheels). If I get anything diff I would get the A-Spec 18's, but them damn wheels are sooooo hard to find. I think you will be safe with 18's but drop it and look into some coilovers for the drop and then you don't have to worry about potholes and all that cuz you can raise it if it's too low.

ok ok I give up....

Since I just came up with about 1k of cash, I decided to drop it, but not just because you guys said so, but because my current shocks and springs must be really beat up from hitting all those bumps

So now, what I'd really like to get is H&R Sport Springs (50103), but I have no idea what kind of shocks to get, so anyone got any recommendations on that?

Also, this might be a really stupid question but I'm gonna ask anyway. When H&R says that the drop is 1.75 in front and 1.5 inches in the rear, does that mean that the front will be lowered by 1.75 inches than it currently is? and rear being lowered by 1.5 inches than it currently is?

One more thing, how much should I be expecting to spend on Springs/Shocks + install?

u should save up and get some better rims, dont get knock offs some nice JDM wheels or u can go for iforged or HRE, u can find them to be pretty good deals used on forums. but yeah, with out a drop on your car, bigger size wheels just dont go right on a car, looks like a 4x4

ok guys, thanks for all your help. I've made a descion on which rims I'm getting, now I just need some advice on what shocks to get to go with H&R Sport Spring (50103)

I've now made a new thread over at the Tires, Wheels, and Suspension section, here's the link:
