BOOO x-mas break sucked...

I was traveling behind a lifted F-250 with the biggest hitch imaginable. I was right behind him as he was going through an intersection in which our light was green. On the cross street, at a RED light, was a police car with his lights going. Halfway through in the intersection, the truck realizes there is a cop there and SLAMS his brakes to a dead stop. Of course, I slam the brakes on too and run right into his truck.

His lifted chrome bumper had no damage while my lowered front end needs to be replaced.

The thing that gets me is that he was over halfway through the intersection before he slammed his brakes. I was under the impression that he would have just gone through as normal, for the cop was stopped, at a red light, not attempting to cross through at that particular time.

Who was at fault? Generally the person following/rear-ending is at fault, but if the truck did something that stupid like stopping mid-intersection, maybe you caught a break

No one was found at fault, surprisingly. I know i "didn't have control of my car" or some bs like that, but thankfully the guy in the truck just said to forget about it because I would have been at fault and responsible.

nah, cause i read that there is a litte bit of fabricating that is required and pair that with also having to get another headlight and fender.

well, his chrome bumper was slightly pushed in, you couldn't even notice though, even with headlights beaming onto it.
