Another ASPEC MOD Done!! NBP Headlights

Originally i was going for the actuall aspec version of the NBP painted headlights. But since that chrome is wicked sensitive i was forced to paint more of the turn signal area than i originally wanted too. But since i had too i also decided to smoke the amber corners at the same time.

stock vs. modded

test fit to make sure all the lights swapped over worked. Also replaced the turn signals with some silverstar chrome bulbs that blink orange, in order to take away some of that amber glow the stock ones give off.

finished product. Definatly looks a lot meaner now. Also relocated the ballests of my HID fogs to the sides instead of directly under the headlight ballests since it was blocking the bolts needed to undo the headlights.

the chrome is hekka sensitive, i don't even thinking masking tape would do the job....

Weaken the adhesive on the tape by repeatedly applying and removing each piece from a clean table surface. This prevents the tape from lifting the chrome.

Ideally, thin translucent dispenser tape (not wide scotch tape) would be the best, but it is hard to work with around the edges. Masking tape is good here, however, it leaves some residue on the chrome when it is removed. I don't believe the clear plastic tape would have any problems with this.

Also, adhere the tape only surrounding the borders. There is no need to let the tape stick to portions within.

Looks great. also look for the 3m Green masking tape. It may work better than the blue

Don't know about the door handles yet, so far i'm liking the chrome accent but we'll see what happens after i put on some gunmetal rims and drop it next spring/summer.

Will be taking more pics as soon as i get it back from having that crappy door trip tape taken off and painted NBP and all the side pillars are getting replaced since i finnaly found a dealer that would do it for a very resonable price. I didn't feel like dealing with painting since the temps are dropping here so no more painting for the seaeson.
