XS headers installed today!
i bought XS headers and install them with no issues other then a metal sound, like a weed wacker against a metal fence, but ive noticed a difference in pickup........love it other then the sound of the metal

Second I'm gonna go out on a limb and call you a ricer while hoping you don't really believe that statement you made.
Third I will tell you that if headers made 30whp on ANY un-modded vehicle it would be because someone pinched the piping flat lol.
Fourthly, I'll just LoL again for good measure.
Like said before close to the 10whp range, but a little more if you have other mods done.

Oh, and FYI- a header does 35-40 WHP on an IS300. So the 30 HP neighborhood is not uncommon for a 6 cylinder.
Stick to 4 cylinders buddy

Dude you just showed me a graph that shows about 20-25whp over stock, with a k&N, headers, Exhaust resonators removed, intake mani spacer, and tb spacer. Yeah, I've seen your other posts about that dyno. So pretty much you're trying to tell me you gained 30whp from headers when in reality it was more like 10-15 because you had other mods...just proving my point.
And that other graph posted jjashaa is just crazy. I'm not sure what to think about it. Granted that's a CL-S and I have no idea what tranny, but most TL-S's make around the 200-210whp range in stock form which lines up with the graph pretty much. Throughout my experience I have NEVER seen a 30whp gain on just a header alone. A header and exhaust may yield those numbers, but the most I've ever seen, even on v8's has been low 20's. Do most of you really think just a minor change in bends and a slightly larger diameter in the headers and dp can really gain that kind of HP? and by the way I have searched, on multiple sites, including this one, and the overall consensus is about 10-15whp with a decent pair of headers. The claims of about 30hp by comptech are claims. Almost every company will claim about 10-20% more increase, because they can dyno with a nice low temp and coolant not warm yet and pull out completely different numbers then you'll actually see when you're car is running at operating temps, other techniques are over sized fans that don't accurately simulate the driving temps and lower them to something you'll never see actually driving. You could advance the timing and adjust the a/f's and still say the TL is "stock" cause no one was there to see how stock it really was. I'd say hp gains could be 20-30 crank hp, but at the wheels with absolutely no other mods is just hard to swallow for a simple bolt-on. The real power is in cracking the engine open and start porting, boring, higher comp, cams, stroke, etc.
And the comment about how I should stick to 4 cylinders, I plan on it. For a few hundred more than the price of the comptech headers alone I was able to boost my s13 and can run 12's all day, high 11's on a good day. The little 4 cyl I'm sticking with can take the 15 psi I give it with the reliability pretty close to stock. I've boosted it to 18psi and it definitely pulls a bit harder but i'd rather not throw a bearing before I'm done building my other block to put in. And that little 4 cylinder's tranny is a huge relief from the TL's auto, considering it takes over 500whp to start breaking it. Never the less, the Tl is fun, but honda needs to work on torque production more to really put a little more of that fun factor in their engines. I love torque, and it's kind of embarrassing when the 3.2L I own makes less torque to the wheels stock than my 240 did when it just had bolt-ons....and the Tl makes about 40 more whp.
Ken240sx... why do you care so much if headers make 30 whp or not? Do your 4 Cyls have a 6 CD Changer? Prolly not... the TL is made for luxury, so a couple people here take it to the track.. big deal. People will race anything but the bigger point is the TL will never be as fast as a supra or another other cars made for boost. Even if we made 30 whp out of headers, it doesn't make much of a difference... and this is coming from a guy with the ct headers and upcoming supercharger.

intake manifold spacer work over time by reducing some heat a quick dyno with 3 pulls which takes no more than 3-4 min the IM spacer wont have no affect. the tb spacer might give some but it wont be no 10whp. an the exhaust resonator removed is just for sound.
Hey guys- has anyone had any experience with JVT headers? they're on Ebay also, stainless steel, claim to have high quality flex joints, fit and welds...etc. So far- seems like the biggest problem with xsp -is correct process in installing/tightening sequence-causing leaks+ inferior hardware. probably inferior gaskets too. i'd try new oem gaskets- with grade 8 bolts. I am A BIT skeptical about quality- for such a low price.. hmmm. but they are a great deal. question is- how long will they last, and how will the flanges, welds hold up? too good to be true?-I hope i'm wrong.
