XS Headers installed... thoughts after YOU installed them...

well, first off, i cant complain... theyre cheaper than a coldair, but i dont feel these retard strength gains everyone raves about. i know there were power gains, cause from a deadstop itll burnout alot longer than it did... but other than that i dont notice much. i wasnt expecting a boosted feeling, but it feels just as quick on the freeway as it did before.

I dunno, but I know I felt a big difference on the highway. After 3k RPM I feel a stronger pull than before. I know they did something becaues I ran against the same car that beat me before and I took him this time.

I did them on my car myself. No problems just a lot of work. Combined with my AEM CAI and Apexi exhaust I think it goes like a bat out of hell. Before I just spun very little off the line and now I spin all the way thru first into second. I just love it. Costs more for gas though and will for tires too I guess but WOO HOO!!

well... maybe i am making the power i should be. its just so smooth i dont notice it. i tried it a couple days ago, and i caught traction right before vtec engaged, or im sure it would have kept spinning.

ill try it again after i get a real intake and reset the ecu.

I dont know what your expecting 20 hp to feel like but its not going to be like a turbo kicking in. the power will be smooth and across the board

I got mine in on Sunday and it feels great. I need to get back underneath and check everything make sure it's all snug. Feels awesome. Sounds even better.

im just used to the oldschool vtec. i had a cammed h22... pre-vtec it was ok, but at 5200 is was a very noticable instant jump in power. guess i should just appreciate the lowend torque blending into the highend hp smoothly.

I don't know if it is just mental horses, but it pulls a bit more than before. I tripped out on 2nd gear though. It has never done that before. There is leakage on a cold start, but goes away after it warm up. Engine idles rough. I got the headers installed at the same time as the timimg belt, so really do not know which one to blame. All and all, hella cheap for headers, a bang bang for the buck.

what you need to do is drive it around for a little. and retighten all the bolts when the car is warm. that should help out alittle.
