Just wondering if this would fit the 2nd Gen TL?

Should fit the TL-P since it's made for AV6.

But why SRI? It makes no power, only sound.

In KY there is a lot of salt dumped in the winter on the roads and we get usually get a good amount of snow, so i really dont feel like messing with the intake/filter every winter due to that.

You talking about compared to CAI? I wouldn't worry about that. The splash guard underneath prevents water from getting up there. Most of the salt damage is around the wheel well where it splashes from the tires. The tires are behind where the air intake is.

i dont know how much water is needed around the CAI to actually suck in water but after driving around in that 4-day rainstorm we had in NY/Northeast, i looked under the hood and into the space where the resonator used to be (i have an SRI for now). it was completely soaked even with the splash guard. theres no gaps, leaks, or anything like that in the splash guard. it was recently installed new by the dealer. i know for a fact, though, road salt will not touch the filter.

You dont have to. I live where the roads are salt in the winter and lots of snow. Never a issue, plus its behind every thing and snow and salt dont get to it, even if you ram thru snow drifts.

It needs to be submerged. It can get wet and it wont hurt a thing.

Dry filter
