Question Where to start on performance mods

I've always owned civcs for one reason, to add performance parts and make them fast. Now i've got a TL and i'm not sure where to start. I'm about to get the mufflers and air intake but i'm not sure where to go from there cause as far as ebay goes, i don't see to many performance parts for the TL. I'm open to any suggestions, thanks.

I just got mine as well so we are in the same boat. It seems that the big three for everybody is the exhast, intake, and pulleys. These three are about all I am going to do until my warranty runs out. However I am doing many exterior mods.

Intake/header/exhaust ....thats a good starting point and then decide what you want from there..

You can also put a crank pulley on, thats a good mod I believe.

Welcome to the forum
There are several easy mods for power and braking on the TL
If you go to the top of any page here and click on Off Topic, then scroll down that screen to Sponsored Sales
click that
All the vendors there are approved by acurazine and also make this site happen for us!
Excelerate and MrHeelToe (that guy is a Civic fan too) both know their stuff and sell quality parts. If they dont have it- they will send you to the right place

Header Intake and pulley are the best mods for power. Exhausts do almost nothing on these cars for hp

Nothing. If your looking for power spending money on an exhaust should be the very last thing you buy

As was mentioned: intake (AEM or Injen; Comptech Icebox again soon enough), header (DC Sports or Comptech), and Unorthodox Racing crank pulley.

I would say in order from highest gains to lowest:

Comptech Supercharger - 60-65 WHP (According to Comptech, currently unavailable since Comptech is in the process of restructuring their management/reopening their doors)

Headers - 20-25 WHP (according to Comptech)

Cold Air Intake - 10-15 WHP (according to Comptech) 5-7 WHP (according to an Acurazine member... can't remember who...)

Unorthodox Crank Pulley - approx 10 WHP (according to... actually I'm not sure. But someone had a dyno)

Random Technology Hi Flow Cat - approx 10 WHP (check CL forums for dyno)

Thermoblock Spacers - ??? WHP

Cat Back exhaust - 5 WHP if you have a TL-P I believe... 2-3 WHP if you have a TL-S (according to Acurazine hearsay)

Finally ! If your numbers are accurate then this deserves to be a sticky. Thanks Bravedemon.

Along with the boltons like i/h/e/p/s if you have a type P like i do, you can swap on the type S manifolds and throttle body, easily another 15-20hp or so. I'm much faster than a stock type S with all my mods, and i can beat a modded type S as well.

well that's really upsetting to find out that the TL's are not at all like civics, integras, and preludes. I mean I really didn't plan on hooking it up when i got it but now i'm starting to miss the sound and speed of the hooked up civics i had in the past.
truthfully is it even worth it? I saw the price on the supercharger and for that price i could buy me a older civic with a built motor already in it.

When the TL was made, I don't think it was made to be a race car or a modded car for that matter which would probably explain the feeling you may be missing.
