Smile What type of hid bulb ?

I recently replaced my stock headlights assembly on my 2002 tl. They came with new bulbs. The new bulbs are kind of a purple blue at night...looks cools but not happy with the visibility. I don't understand the numbers system with these hid bulbs. I just want the whitest and brightest bulbs possible. Can somebody tell me exactly what brand and numbers I should get? I know this has been covered before......sorry. Just wanted a updated opinion. Thanks a lot.

Stock hid is 4300. It is the most usable light output spectrum.

As for best brand, that all depends on how much you are willing to spend.

There's not alot of original manufacturer's of this "D2R" bulb. Phillips and GE are the brands that I had a choice between. I went with the Phillips and have had no trouble for over two years now. Buy from a reputable source as some places on Ebay are possibly selling knock-off look alikes !

If you want the brightest white ......then go with the 5000 as suggested previously. You may want to consider updating the factory ballast system with one of the newer waterproof designs which are much cheaper to buy and will come with bulbs. Do some research while you're on this project !

Philips/Osram are considered the best. There are others that are cheaper but just as good overall.
