so i went to advanced auto parts and got this plain jane piping that acutally worked out pretty well and got a aem dry flow filter and when i turned the car on i noticed a loud drone and then when the car warmed up it made a weird whining noise while i idled. any suggestions?

yea its the air being sucked into ur car, its normal

 

dont worry man, thats normal, super super annoying but very normal. Its really loud on short rams, CAIs are a bit better but it sounds like a super loud Hummmmmmmm. I was afraid when I first threw mine on, I switched back to the stock box because I couldnt stand the noise.

When i'm by myself its no problem, cause I just blast my subs, but when the gf is in the car, thats all i can hear. hmmmmmmmmmm

 

that hissing sounds is completely normal. it's just air being sucked in from the filter. some people hate it, some don't mind.

yea i like dat sound....specially when the vtec hits....

 

vtec on the short ram is LOUD ! cold air is more muffled

after cleaning out my EGR ports and intake manifold/TB i can hear a louder more turbo like sounding whistle at different throttle positions. It definitely sucks more!

 

i thought that noise was my exhaust....lol until I decided to figure out where it was coming from. I am now banned from parking in my buddies driveway and must cut my car off b4 I get to his house the hum drives him nuts he says it sounds like a really loud sump pump.... I love it.....haters
