Traction Control coolant lines
Traction Control coolant lines
Does anyone know what the coolant lines do that are attached to the traction control throttle body on the TL type "S"? Are they just a preheat thing or do they actually
play a part in operating the butterfly in the traction control unit that shuts down air to the engine? (need to know as I bypassed them when installin my CAI pipe). THANKS!

Thanks for your reply/posting... but I was really concerned because there is both the normal throttle body preheat coolant lines (that frequently have bypasses done) and also these separate coolant lines that are running into the traction control unit which is directly in front of the throttle body (only on the type S, mine's a 2002), was not sure if the butterfly in the traction control unit was using the coolant flowing though the housing to assist in operating/shutting the butterfly or if the electrical connector on this unit operated the butterfly (as there is no obvious looking motor attached to it? Does anyone know how this gizmo works... seems like an odd way to control the engine as part of the traction control/VSA system ?
