Has anyone tried the unichip out?

 

I am pretty sure it is a plug and play application

 

for the price you can get better things

 

Waste of money IMHO. there are better things to spend money on that will actually give you decent power increases

 

What is a good ecu upgrade for the tl-s

 

Besides getting the ecu flashed

 

you cannot flash the ecu ... and maybe a vafc (dyno tuned) after intake, headers, pulley, spacers etc...

 

There isnt one, and the standalones dont make much if any power. I would stick the money into other mods like the UR pulley, headers, intake. They all make alot more power to the wheels

 

I was told that Jet Performance has some sort of ECU upgrade were you send in you send in your ecu

 

1 - they do have "something"
2 - it will not provide any gains on your car (some people have actually lost power with it)

Listen to the others. Save your money.

 

 

I heard all Jet does is apply a fancy sticker.......makes the unichip look like a good deal

 

The other day I asked if anyone knew how the Jet Performance Upgrade was and all the feedback I got was bad. But I still went out and tried it out. Knowing they were probably wrong. The people who responded to me didn't know what they were talking about. My car burns out now and chirps in 2nd.

go to jetperformance.com. You can also call them. There customer service is good, they will tell you everything you need to know. I would not recommend this upgrade unless you already have, intake, headers, and exhaust though. For my car it was $300

is there a dyno? any real proof besides possible placebo effects? i am not saying that your BSing, i am just trying hear it out and see if there is any worth for this $300 jet upgrade. from prior posts, it seems that it was useless or detrimental. perhaps they redid the process that was used in the past. you can prove everyone wrong if you had some real facts.

 

What - you're not happy with the 90+ hp/liter rate (type S w/mods), and want an upgrade to make it 100+?

On a normally aspirated car??? 100 hp/liter was traditionally the domain of turbocharged cars only. A NA car making this kind of HP if fantastic!

If you're making 85+hp/liter on a NA car don't complain. The computer's doing a great job! Compare that to my '94 formula - with under 50 hp/liter....

 

I wouldn't call myself an idiot, but maybe you could put someone in that catagory if they payed $800 for a unichip. Which does the same thing.

You don't have to be a dick. I really would not like your advise any way. Especailly from someone who own a slow ass tl. Your car wouldn't be as fast as mine even if you supercharded it.

Sorry pal, but as much money as you put into your tl. It will always remain a tl. I would not waste my money on up grading it. I would rather ride my bike than drive your pos. There are dyno charts for these upgrades on Jet Performance website.

lol heres a dyno of a 03 rsx, its only gains 9 hp 7500 rpm...thats sad for a 300 dollar product..

Just like any other upgrade the more horsepower your car has to begin with the more horsepower the modification will give you. So they in your case I would not bother making any modifications at all. How fast does your car do 0-60? I am guessing 12 seconds.
