Throttle Body Question

I installed a set of thermoblocs yesterday, and in the kit was a splice fitting to connect the two coolant lines that go to the bottom of the throttle body. it said in the directions that using this splice on those two lines to bypass the TB will keep TB temps cooler. my question is, is it really worth it to do that? and are you risking damage or overheating to anything by doing that?

the coolant lines are there to warm the tb in the winter so it doesn't freeze. i bypassed it when i installed the p2r spacers last year. you're o-k with the bypass unless you live in the north or canada.

Aspec_03tl-s, welcome to the board.
I highly suggest you get thicker skin. I'm sure jjashaa was just messing around.

And no, it will do nothing to harm to engine.

I had a problem in the winter with the coolant bypass.

https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tl-1999-2003-98/help-p1457-p0122-but-when-engine-cold-585820/

Oh and I'm running both spacers.

im also wondering if i'm better off getting a complete rebuild I've read that getting the heads ported polished and planed that i'd get a good 40hp at the wheels more which would also help the bolt on mods such as SRI and headers.

Cool Never say never or you can't!

Don't let these people deter you from your goal. Nothing is impossible with todays technology. I too have an 03 TL-S and have simular goals in mind. If it can't be done than we'll both fail but we'll both still have a car that most people will only see the sweet tail end of, in their windshield. Don't forget, we have a lot more weight to move than these small four bangers do. It is a heavier luxury/performance car not a HP popcorn popper but we're (J32A2 TL-S) fully capable of pulling our weight.
