I have recently installed a CT Icebox and love it. With any guy modding his car...it is never enough! I want more HP. I have been doing some research and basically I don't wanna spend the 1k for the CT headers, but am not willing to take a chance with another brand, thus I'm looking to other places. Under my circumstances would you guys consider it wise to obtain a Thermoblok Spacer Kit and a UR Pulley to get HP? Just a side note....I'm content with my stock exhaust and do not have a lust for the sound so that is probably another avenue I would not venture down. What do you guys think of the CAI, UR Pulley, and spacer kit combo?
Thanks in advance,
Mark

Headers yield the most power on our cars, short of a block upgrade or forced induction.
Doing other things but skipping out on the headers (possibly the most restrictive point in the J32) is pointless. If you're going to modify your car for more power, then get headers. It's not a question of "should I get headers?" if you want to modify your car. It's a must.
Especially on a Premium model, Icebox, pulley, and spacer will not net any serious gains. Go with Alphawerks headers or something; they are cheaper than Comptech with pretty decent quality.

I always understood hearders were the most bang for the buck, and almost a necessity. I want them, but just can't afford them now. I was thinking Alphawerks was my best bet for headers, as I do not wish to drop 1k on CT's. I just haven't heard enough about Alphawerks to seriously consider investing in them. I've read time and time again CT's are perfect, but you pay for what you get. I've also read about the cracking of the OBX's and the noise with the Meagans. In Alphawerks case, I guess no news is good news. I guess I'll get the Thermoblok Spacers or the UR Pulley in the meantime, but why on a Premium model would the pulley and spacer kit yeild less gains than on an S?
Thanks for the advice,

Well, actually, I should retract that statement. I was thinking in terms of headers and carried that thought over to the pulleys and the spacer kit. Sorry. Originally Posted by TLsu

That's Racist
Why don't you take the money that you would be using on the pulleys and the spacers and put it towards purchasing the headers down the line? I think that makes more sense..

You do major power-adders first, then do stuff like pulleys and spacers to extract the extra few ponies. I mean, in the end, it all comes out the same, but it's your call. Originally Posted by TLsu

New ride...Acura MDX 2013
TLsu, go for the Alphawerks header, they are the closest thing to a CT for 1/2 the price but don't buy direct from them, there is a group buy going on at a steal of a price IMO, I've got them on my car and love them
. If you go for the spacers you can clean all the shit out of the Intake Manifold at the same time its a great DIY.
