I was thinking about buying one for my tl. I hear they offer crazy power gains. Some say they are too loud. I have heard some sound clips on youtube of test pipes on different cars and on some it actually sounds really good. Does anyone have them on their tl? If so can you post a sound clip or vid please?

 

u should look it up for our cars. someone posted a vid of the cat and (mid muffler?) removed and at higher rpm its raspy

I wouldnt say crazy gains. I made one (with my TL-P and it changed the sound more than it gave power) Not to mention its Illegal in all 50 states (if you care, or are in a state that does testing). Oh and it will throw a CEL.

just bring in the test pipe, not your car. its illegal for a muffler shop to take out the cat.

 

Here is an fx35 with no test pipe. It sounds unholy. And an fx35 with hks.
What can I do to make my car sound like these? No test pipe sounds good on this car.

What in the world do you mean no test pipe sounds good on this car? You want that sound buy one of those.

Get a good exhaust system like the atlp system or use the search button for many other exhaust options (like the Magnaflow setups). Mine sounds very similar to that with the comptechs and the custom work ive done (without the quiet tips in)

Oh and ill let you know that it if you try to get the tl to be as loud as that FX you will be driven nuts on the hwy with drone

 

the fx has a completely diff engine and exhaust system, search for tl/cl with n cat

Search button. Not to come off hard on you but you really need to learn how to use it. If you typed in Magnaflow you would get many results.

Many have done a custom Magnaflow exhaust system with a 14-20" resonator, and 2 mufflers with custom pipe in between.

 

or get AV6 one and just get it extended to fit with ours...
