Struts... KYB GR2s - crap?

So - I tried searching... the engine doesnt seem to be working right. Did I miss something with the site revisions...???

Anyway - I found a set of new KYB GR2s for sale for super cheap. I think I need new struts soon, dont plan on keeping the car for more then 20k longer and dont see a need to put $1000 into it all...

How bad/good are these struts?
Compared to my stock TL struts?
Should I just leave them be...?

Thanks guys!

They are OEM replacements so they are on the "same" level as OEMs, but if you are dropped I'd at least bump up to Tokico HPs.

Just finished replacing my stock '03 TL Type-S struts with GR2's and can definitely say they are a touch better than stock. Bought at 20k miles, suspension was decent - at 92k now, stock suspension was still okay but figured I was due. The gr2s are not a world different than the stocks ever were, but they're 10-20% better (IMO) from a dampening perspective over bumps and standard road conditions and just a tit better on cornering overall. If you're looking to get that stock, smooth feel with just a bit extra comfort, they do the trick. If you're looking for Caddy smooth or ricer tight, might want to spend some extra $$$.
