So im on my way back from the beach, flooring it at every stop light. From my rear view I see these oval shaped lights getting closer, and then theyre right on my ass. I clearly see the vw symbol and the outline of a black beetle. The next light I get to turns red and it pulls up right beside me. Now expecting to see some girl who thinks that she has the fastest car in the world, I bust out laughing when its some nerdy looking guy at the steering wheel, with another guy beside him. The beetle had black rims and red calipers. So the light turns green and I get the jump, im thinking this is going to be an easy kill. Well this is how it goes.... I get the jump... 2 seconds later we are door to door and I hear the hiss of a bov.... 5 seconds later I clearly see the turbo on the back of the beetle.... and 10 seconds later I could hardly tell that it was a beetle. I need mods bad, someone please help me (im completely stock)

yes.. there isn't much to do..

i've done almost all possible bolt ons minus the pulley on my base and it was..... slow... had some go.. but still fairly slow.

even did a IM/TB swap

i'd say swap in a type-s motor and 6spd. slap on some headers and pulleys.

Don't think you need to tune for nitrous.
Aem ems2 has been released, all your tuning worries should be over.
And if you need to ask us about turbos, you're not ready for one.

Haha oh believe me I enjoy spirited driving as much as the next guy but I'm not some teenage stoplight hero. Nor do I care when a car that's clearly been built to be faster than mine blows past. I know what my car is and don't expect anything more of it.

That's kind of the idea of modding. The car is built to certain spec, and we mod it to make more VROOM. Sure Acura started building the car, but us modders finish building to suit our needs (Performance or even VIP). That's why there are threads titled "My car's build." At least that's how I see it.

I don't think jumping straight into nitrous is the best idea. I'd do some basic mods, and go from there. Intake/Headers/Exhaust/Pulley, the basics.

Well said, I agree. I mod my car so that it's quick to my liking, not so I can beat this or that. I just like the vroom when I'm driving the daily grind

exactly. people mod their cars for different and certain reasons i.e (boost, n/a, vip) or whatever. if you mod it to just look nice and not go fast then there's no problem with that. if you mod it to go fast and not look as nice there's no problem with that either. if you do both more power to you. like mega said he mods it to his liking as do I. and its not to beat this or that although its nice to have that option too.

and although its embarrassing to lose to a boosted beetle you were kind of asking for it by flooring it at every light.

Best option is a easy swap just get used mdx engine drop in and Change intake manifold then do bolt ons their engines are like $600

Don't feel bad. your car would have got taken by any compact tuner out there. if you wanna to be fast and furious . you got the wrong car.
TL have more mature and grown up style. after 10 years it still look as good as most new car now a day.
