shock absorber longevity?

I have 88,000 on my well maintained 2000 TL, Since shock obsorber deterioration is insidious and impossible to measure on a day to day basis, I'm wondering if I should be considering new shocks at this time. I do have a preference for the Koni brand but I'm also open to suggestion. I plan to keep the car for at least another two or three years, maybe longer.

Many people suggest you replace your struts every 50,000 miles. Yours have had a long life, it's probably time for replacement. Koni's are expensive but if you have the money it doesn't matter. Some cheaper alternatives are KYB, Tokico HP and Tokico Illuminas.

There is no set mileage. They will slowly deteriorate where most wont notice that they are wearing out till they are really shot. General rule of thumb is every 50k. Also Roads, climate, type of driver all play into how long they last. I replaced mine about 115-120k, but most all my miles were hwy. I noticed the ride falling off around 90k

if ur gonna replace shocks and springs, nab urself a set of coilovers, the basic stuff will cost about as much as a shock/spring set plus you get ride height adjustable. a few more clams and you get the ones where u can change ur spring rate

The TEIN SS give a really nice ride and great adjustment
If you want to stay stock height- the shocks others named all work good
